Drinking and Lower Cholesterol
Drinking liquids rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins, including water can significantly help to lower cholesterol. Vegetable juices and fruit juices like Orange juice which are great sources for natural quality Vitamin C can actually help yo lower cholesterol by as much as 10 percent and without effort. There is however, one caveat for drinking high sugary fruit juices: their high calorie value. So diluting fruit juices with water and limit their consumption to 1-2 glasses a day is a good idea.
Carrot juice, which is an excellent source of Beta Carotene, can also help lowering cholesterol. In fact almost all vegetable juices, contains a myriad of nutrients and minerals, in which some like Vitamin C and E also have great antioxidant qualities that not only cleanse your body from harmful free radicals but can significantly promote the elevation of the HDL cholesterol levels, cleansing also known as the good cholesterol for its ability to cleanse the arteries from excess cholesterol and help prevent atherosclerosis.
Water alone can dramatically reduce cholesterol levels if consumed regularly and from quality sources. It has been proven that dehydration causes the blood to become acidic. When an acidic blood passes through the arteries it becomes even more concentrated and acidic causing tears in the lining of the arteries, leading to a dangerous condition characterized by embolisms of the brain, kidney and other organs. Drinking at least 8 glasses of pure mineral or filtered water on a daily basis can benefit your health not only in lowering cholesterol bin many other aspects such as cleansing and weight loss.
The chemical properties of herbal tea, and especially green tea as a research published in Harvard Women’s Health Watch reports, can seriously help in lowering cholesterol levels. Teas made from blueberries, grapes, oranges, and hibiscus flowers (foods that have plenty of potent antioxidants called flavenoids) by neutralizing free radicals, can aid in fighting and preventing many common illnesses such as cancer and heart diseases and lower the LDL cholesterol while increasing the HDL cholesterol also known as the good cholesterol.
Green tea in particular should be consumed on a daily basis and it has an abundance of these quality antioxidants, which can help regulate blood sugar and reduce high blood pressure in addition to its significant cholesterol lowering properties.
